Description
Their trunks blackened by fire, these paperbark (melaleuca) trees thrive in low-lying, saturated soils where other plants are unable to cope.
Many species are highly valued for the oil that can be distilled from their leaves. Melaleuca or tea tree oil has long been known to possess potent antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Flat, diffuse light and an exaggerated soft focus lends this photograph a slightly dreamy almost painted look.
