Description
A young lion cub (Panthera leo) getting up close and personal with a tree.
Although originally found across southern Europe, west Asia and Africa, the lion is now restricted to scattered populations in national parks and reserves in Africa, and a small population in India. Lions have been revered since ancient times for their strength, golden coat and fearsome roar.
This cub is still learning the tricks of the trade, with today’s lesson being how to climb trees.
