Huka Falls on the Waikato River, near Taupo in the centre of New Zealand's North Island.
Huka Falls is located on the Waikato River, just a few kilometres downstream from its source at Lake Taupo. The falls offer only a modest drop (about 17 metres), but are most spectacular for the crystal clear waters, the narrow chasm through which the upstream river flows (15 metres wide) and the volume and speed of the flow (1 million litres every 5 seconds). The churning blue and white wash continues for hundreds of metres downstream.
I am a photographer based in Sydney, Australia. I shoot mostly landscapes but include the occasional urban, flora and fauna shots for good measure.
