Description
We visited the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse in Mendocino along the coast when the naked lady lilies were in full bloom. (Sorry, no undressed female human around here) I honestly couldn't think of any interesting way to photography this light house. In fact, I had a hard time photographing anything interesting during this entire weekend trip. I thought I was loosing it. Flat light, flat sky, flat everything.

Wow, I've spent time at Pt. Cabrillo, but never when the lilies were in bloom! Wonderful image.

Thanks Dianne. The disappointing about that area was it is gray ALL the time. If it wasn’t for the lilies, there wasn’t much worthy of shooting. That lighthouse was not much to look at alone, at least with my level of skill, I couldn’t make it interesting with that gray ocean.

It's actually one of your very best pieces of art. The flatness you speak of gives the whole piece a dreamy, romantic feel. The flowers in the foreground serve as a starting point for the eye to draw you along to the lighthouse itself and set it as the subject of the piece. Love it Alinna, well done. :)
