This dead tree is hosting a small gathering of Little Pied Cormorants (Microcarbo melanoleucos). Little Pied Cormorants (or shags) are seabirds found in Australia and New Zealand. They inhabit swamps, lagoons and tidal inlets feeding on fish, crustaceans and insects.
