Description
A section of rugged coastline in the south west of Victoria.
The limestone sea stacks seen here are part of a larger formation known as the Twelve Apostles. Six can be seen here, with one obscured by the larger stack in the foreground. Others are visible elsewhere along the coast although it is debatable whether there are actually twelve in total.
The swells here are large and stormy most of the year round, with no land between here and Antarctica. Even in living memory several of the rock formations have collapsed in the face of the relentless onslaught of the waves.
