Artist's Description
The National Carillon in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, is located on a small island in Lake Burley Griffin. The structure stands approximately 50m tall and contains 55 bells. The bells sound the hours, with complete works played on commemorative occasions. On a still day the instrument can be heard up to two kilometres away.
