Description
The clifftops at Kurnell in southern Sydney are made from some of the whitest sandstones I have ever seen. Perched 30m above the ocean the relatively soft rock is sculpted by the wind into fantastic shapes. The variation in hardness of each layer of stone has resulted in its erosion into a strongly rippled pattern. Small sections of harder cap-rock have preserved the underlying layers.
In my imagination I can see a giant taking a scoop out of a mountain of meringue to create this scene.
