Description
The Scaly Breasted Lorikeet (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus) takes its name from the yellow-tipped feathers that create a scale-like pattern across its breast. It is sometimes referred to as the green lorikeet or green and gold lorikeet.
It is found along coastal eastern Australia from the temperate to tropical regions. Their bright red beaks contrast strongly with their green feathers. They feed on nectar, nuts, small fruits and insects.
