Description
Paperbark trees (melaleuca) are found all over Australia, often thriving in low lying saltpans and saturated soils where most other species would be unable to cope.
Many species are highly valued for the oil that can be distilled from their leaves. Melaleuca (or tea tree) oil has long been known to possess potent antibacterial and antifungal properties.
The scene here is bathed in rich afternoon sunlight.
