Description
The Australian White Ibis (Threskiornis molucca) is a large water bird found across eastern and northern Australia.
Adults weight between 2 and 2.5 kg and have a correspondingly large wingspan. The bird is predominantly white with a few black tail feathers and black wingtips. A patch of red skin beneath the wings brightens to scarlet in breeding season.
This image is a composite of three photographs of the same bird in flight, as it slows down and approaches to land.
