Description
Footbridge connecting the first of the Three Sisters to the main escarpment at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
The Three Sisters is a rock formation located in the Blue Mountains National Park, a UNESCO world heritage area, to the west of Sydney. Sandstone cliffs and spires rise 2000 feet from the valley floors below.
According to aboriginal legend, three girls Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo were turned to stone by a witchdoctor during a tribal war to protect them from harm. Unfortunately the witchdoctor was killed before he could reverse the spell.
