Description
Bighorn sheep petroglyph found in the Three Rivers region of Otero County, New Mexico. The Chihuahuan desert can be seen in the mid-distance with the San Andres mountains to the rear.
There are thousands of petroglyphs in this small area alone. The images were created by scratching the natural patina from the rock. The art is believed to be approximately 600 - 1100 years old.
