Description
Dawn colours paint the eastern sky over the Coromandel Marine Reserve. The Coromandel Peninsula is on the eastern coast of New Zealands north island. The peninsula is about 80 km long and comprises a rugged and mountainous spine fringed by pristine sandy beaches.
The Coromandel Marine Reserve covers 840 hectares of land and sea area of particular beauty. Limestone cliffs are being eroded by the sea leaving behind pillars and sea stacks like those seen here. This view is from Mares Leg Cove, looking east towards Poikeke and Pigeon Islands.
