An American flag waves in the breeze in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a 6 lane suspension bridge, built in 1937, spanning the inlet to San Francisco Bay. It is perhaps the most widely recognised symbol of San Francisco. This photograph shows the flag flying from Fort Point in front of the underside of the bridge.
