Description
The Red Browed Finch (sometimes known as the Red-Browed Firetail) (Neochmia temporalis) inhabits mangroves and the banks of creeks along the eastern coast of Australia. The birds are often found in large flocks, darting amongst the tall grasses looking for seed.
Adults are approximately 12 cm long. They feature a grey breast, olive wings and a distinctive scarlet red mask.
