Description
Inside the ruins of the convict built church at Port Arthur, Tasmania.
The gothic style church was built by convict labour in 1837 and was used by inmates of the gaol until destroyed by fire in 1884. Only the sandstone walls remain. The church is located on the Port Arthur historic site, a former convict prison and part of the larger UNESCO World Heritage Australian Convict Sites.
