Description
The Flame Robin (Petroica phoenicea) is a small Australian bird, only distantly related to robins from Europe or North America. The female (shown here) has a brown back and cap, black and white wings and a grey breast.
Flame robins inhabit the higher terrain of the south eastern corner of the Australian mainland and Tasmanian highlands. Adults are approximately 12-14 cm long.
