Description
The spectacular Crater Lake, high in the Tasmanian Wilderness UNESCO World Heritage area.
Crater Lake lies within the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park in the central highlands of Tasmania. Despite its name, the lake was carved by glacial action rather than by a meteorite impact. The waters are stained dark brown by tannins. The boat shed dates from the 1940s and was constructed from King Billy Pine.
